One hundred percent automatic quality control of tablets and capsules

The microwave resonance technique (from TEWS) is very suitable for inhomogeneous products due to the greater penetration depth, but the technique is less suitable for higher moisture percentages. You can also measure the density with microwave technology, which is interesting for 100% automatic quality control of tablets and capsules. This makes it possible to monitor weight and reject tablets or capsules that do not meet specifications.

Case: Automatic determination of moisture in fluid-bed dryers secures additional profits

By monitoring moisture during a fluidized bed process, the operator can accurately determine the end point of the drying process without multiple interruptions and without having to take samples to the laboratory in between.

A well-known company in the pharmaceutical industry that does business worldwide has calculated that if they could switch off the Fluid Bed Dryer exactly when sufficient drying has occurred, they would save 50,000 euros per FBD per year. And can secure a total of EUR 90,000 per Fluid Bed Dryer per year in additional profit, as they are able to grow by 6% and run 300 additional production hours per year.
