Save money, resources and prevent a bad batch with In-line NIR

When dry substances are supplied in bulk, it is a must to control the quality of these raw materials; the first step in the production process. You are then able to adjust the process according to the variations in the raw materials or to refuse the supplied raw materials based on specifications. Although at-line or offline NIR measurements can be effective in this first phase, they do cause delays.

By implementing in-line NIR instruments in the system to obtain critical process and product information, delay is avoided and you are able to understand and adjust the behavior of the material in the process environment.
Monitoring raw materials or semi-finished products is also important during the mixing process. The Viavi PAT-U is suitable for use on rotary mixers and stationary process equipment and determines exactly when mixing is complete.

During the further production process, such as cooking or extrusion, the actual product specifications are determined. Here too, the PAT-U offers you the opportunity to measure and adjust the quality of your products.
A possible final step in the production process is drying or coating the end product. In-line NIR can provide you with real-time information about the effectiveness of the coating or drying process.

The use of in-line NIR analyzers enables accurate, reliable quality control and provides the highest possible "safety". They prevent wastage of resources and secure the intended profit, as can also be seen in this diagram. They also prevent expensive recalls and sometimes even image damage!
