Particle size measurement method for biobased nanomaterials real gamechanger

The existing and future generation of nanomaterials often consist of mixtures of wholly or partly biobased materials. Think of biomedical materials (nutraceutical and pharmacological applications) and polymer mixtures. Traditional particle characterization methods, such as DLS and LD, make it difficult to measure these mixtures correctly. These methods provide only average data over the whole sample, with all particles considered the same, just of different sizes. This can be a limitation in various R&D and QC tasks. The relatively new particle characterization method SPES (Single Particle Extinction and Scattering) solves that problem.
