What is choline dioxide gas? And how to optimise a chlorine dioxide generator.

Chlorine dioxide gas is a synthetic yellow-green explosive gas that is only stable when the solution is protected from light and stored refrigerated. For this reason, the gas must be produced and used on site. This is done with a chlorine dioxide generator. The efficiency of these generators and the chlorine dioxide dosage can be optimized using the Teledyne CLO2 analyzer.

Chlorine dioxide has a strong UV absorption

Chlorine dioxide has a strong UV absorption and can be accurately measured in liquid and gas flows. Teledyne's 6000 Series Ultraviolet Photometer is designed to accurately measure the concentration of chlorine dioxide gas online.

Chlorine dioxide measurement in the pulp and paper industry

Different bleaching sequences must be used in the production of different pulps. This depends on the pulping process used, the residual lignin content of the pulp and the intended clarity. Major goals at most pulp mills include optimizing the reaction efficiency of CLO2 generators, correct dosing of CLO2 and improving scrubber control to reduce chlorine dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.
