Inline Brixmeters or refractometers are used, among other things, during:

Extraction > After the coffee has been ground, a concentration measurement is made prior to mixing.

Mixing > The in-line Brix meter includes a mixing ratio feedback system. It measures the mixing ratio in real time and responds by changing the flow volume adjustment.

Bottling > Before bottling, a final check of the product is made to ensure that it is within specifications. Controlling the switch between different fluids can also help reduce fluid loss.

A Brix measurement can be used for more purposes in the production process of ready-to-use coffee, such as:

Fluid switch check

When switching to a new liquid on the production line, it can be checked whether the concentration has changed or not.

Cleaning solution concentration control

Used to monitor the proper concentration level of the caustic soda or peracetic acid used to disinfect the piping system.
