Important for dust measurements in flue gases for the purpose of cement, ceramics and glass

The dust particles can be distributed unevenly across the channel cross-sections, therefore it is necessary to measure at various locations in this cross-section and determine an average concentration or to measure with an optical analyser with laser or light that is twice the diameter of the channel discards; The duration must be chosen sufficiently long to properly average out the effects of minor process disruptions, irregularities and switchovers. Especially for the ceramic and glass industry, the filter must have a degree of separation that is still sufficiently high for very fine dust particles (<0.1 µm);The filter material must be inert, not itself subject to weight loss and not react with flue gas components; For measurements in the ceramic industry and glass furnaces where flue gas temperatures above 400 ° C can occur in the chimney, the use of aluminum oxide filters or quartz wool filters is recommended. The dust levels of the flue gases often depend on the temperature at which filtration takes place.
