Selecting a suitable detector

When selecting a suitable detector, it is important to match the absorption bands of the gases to the spectral sensitivity of the detector. Other detector characteristics to consider include:

Sensitivity

Specific detection

Sound

Linearity

Speed

Cooling

Fast and reliable analysis with infrared gas analyser

Non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) spectroscopy analyzes the concentration of target gases based on their analogous infrared absorbance. With the classic NDIR gas sensors, an infrared detector must be coupled to a band-pass filter to select the target gas. Teledyne offers a reliable range of infrared gas analysers for measuring:

Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Carbon monoxide (CO)
Methane (CH4)
Nitric oxide (NO)
Oxygen (O2) (fuel cell)
Oxygen (O2) (paramagnetic)
Sulfur dioxide (SO2)

Contact with Inventech about infrared gas measuring instruments

Depending on the practical application, desired accuracy and the gas (mixture) to be measured, Inventech can make a suitable proposal for you. If you wish to detect multiple gases, we can expand the analysers. For more information about measuring gases with infrared gas analysers, please contact specialist and product manager John Heidenreich, via tel.: 0031 (0)162-460404 or email.
