Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a versatile gas that is increasingly used in industry in many processes, such as in the beverage industry, greenhouse horticulture, cryo-cleaning, gas packaging, welding, extraction, waste water treatment, fire protection and refrigeration technology. For use as an inert gas, it is common to produce this gas in a fired inert gas generator or to recover it from flue gases from fireboxes.
